The Ultimate Range of Fire Curtains is a Unique Patented Design that has brushless smoke seals.
Most fire curtain manufactures offer protection as an option if building control ask for it, when they do require smoke seals they use brush strips to stop smoke leakage, these brush strips only protect against smoke if there is NOT a fire, if there is a fire the brush is nylon and burns and the carrier is aluminium and melts within minutes giving NO protection in a fire situation.
It is also now required that all brush strips be inspected every six months and replaced where necessary. These brush strips also jam the curtain when in the up position causing major problems and the installer leaves the curtain about six inches it to the opening so the curtain can operate.
At K & D Fire & Smoke we have a patented design with brushless smoke seals that means our smoke leakage beats a solid steel door and gives smoke protection as standard throughout a fire situation.
